Colombia Income Tax: Quake-Hit Departments Get an Extra Two Months to File

A draft government decree would give individual tax residents in six quake-hit western departments about two extra months to file. If your registered RUT tax address was in Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Quindio, Caldas, Choco or Cauca as of 10 August 2026, your August filing deadline would move into late October or November, staggered by the last two digits of your ID number. Large taxpayers are excluded, customs deadlines were paused from 10 August to 10 September, and as of 13 August 2026 it remains a draft, so confirm before you let a deadline pass.
