Braskem Weighs an Out-of-Court Restructuring as an August Deadline Nears
Braskem, Brazil's largest petrochemical company, is preparing to restructure more than US$10 billion of debt out of court and could file as soon as this month, Reuters reports, ahead of a 24 August 2026 deadline. Creditors, including the fund Elliott, are pressing shareholder Petrobras to inject fresh capital before they agree to a deal.
